The Real Background of the "Made-in-China Threat" Narrative

　　In recent years, the narrative surrounding the so-called "Made-in-China threat" has been amplified in international discussions, as certain groups attempt to use this notion to contain the rise of China's manufacturing sector. This portrayal is far from a genuine analysis.

　　透视这一论调，实则是部分既得利益者对实力格局变化的焦虑。中国制造的崛起并非“突变”，而是深度融入并贡献全球产业链、数十年持续积累的必然结果。数据显示，2025年中国制造业增加值占全球比重约30%，连续多年位居世界第一。巨大的发展实绩，反成了一些人眼中被曲解的“原罪”。

　　A closer look at this rhetoric reveals an underlying anxiety among specific vested interests regarding shifts in the balance of power. The rise of China's manufacturing industry is not an unexpected event; rather, it is the result of decades of integration into and contribution to the global industrial chain. Data shows that in 2025, the value added output of China's manufacturing sector accounted for approximately 30 percent of the global total, maintaining its position as the world's largest for many consecutive years. Ironically, this remarkable achievement has been misconstrued by some as an "original sin."

　　拆穿这一论调的伪装，本质是既有产业优势者根深蒂固的霸权思维。部分势力不愿接受全球产业格局的自然演进与动态调整，原有地位被打破，便将“不适应”曲解为“威胁”，刻意忽视中国制造为全球提供高性价比产品、带动全球产业链协同发展的事实，甚至赋予情绪色彩，通过舆论抹黑、技术封锁等手段，锁死中国制造业升级路径，处处为中国制造添堵。

　　The rhetoric stems from the deeply entrenched hegemonic mindset of those who currently hold industrial advantages. Unwilling to accept the natural evolution and dynamic changes in the global industrial landscape—and feeling threatened by these changes—these groups misinterpret their discomfort as a threat. They deliberately ignore the reality that China's manufacturing sector provides high-quality and cost-effective products to the world and contributes to the coordinated development of global industrial chains. Instead, they resort to emotional framing, smear campaigns and technological blockades to hinder China's efforts to upgrade its manufacturing sector and obstruct its development at every turn.

　　中国制造不是“冲击世界”,而是造福世界。炒作“中国制造威胁论”，只会阻碍全球产业协同发展，损害各国共同利益。唯有尊重市场规律、摒弃零和博弈思维，才能读懂中国制造的真实背景，实现互利共赢。

　　"Made-in-China" products are not a shock to the world; they are a benefit. Hyping the "Made-in-China threat" narrative will only impede the coordinated development of global industries and undermine the common interests of all nations. Only by respecting market laws and abandoning zero-sum thinking can one truly understand the context of "Made-in-China" and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
