记者手记 | 在春风里，种下一颗种子

　　第三届中美青少年匹克球友谊赛现场，笔者看到一个有趣的画面：球网这边，美国男孩和中国女孩一起做着赛前深呼吸；球网那边，美国女孩正和她的中国搭档进行开局前的碰拍。球拍相撞的瞬间，像对暗号一般，无需言语，共同的运动让心意相通。

　　At the 3rd China-U.S. Youth Pickleball Friendship Tournament, I witnessed a heartwarming scene: on one side of the net, an American boy and a Chinese girl took deep breaths together before the match; on the other side, an American girl tapped paddles with her Chinese partner—a silent signal, a shared language through sport.

　　这场跨越太平洋的相聚，就这样在一次次碰拍、一个个微笑和一场场拥抱里，悄然发生。那种感情特别纯真美好。

　　The cross-Pacific gathering unfolded naturally through shared paddle touches, smiles, and embraces. Pure and genuine.

　　三天时间不长，但足够让一些东西生根。在梅水乡园村村，美国青少年握起竹竿学舞龙，动作虽显生疏，却笑得开怀。在笔架山的茶垄间，他们腰系茶篓，学着采下一芽一叶。美国青少年Isaiah Valmonte告诉笔者，在美国他们几乎每顿饭都离不开茶。体验采茶后，他觉得以后每次再端起茶杯，感觉都会不一样了。

　　Three days may be short, but long enough for something to take root. In Yuan Village of Meishui Township, American youths tried their hands at dragon dance—unfamiliar with the moves yet beaming with joy. On the tea terraces of Bijia Mountain in Youshi Township, they strapped on baskets and learned to pick tender leaves. "We have tea at every meal," said Isaiah Valmonte. "It would make me appreciate the tea more at every meal."

　　这些瞬间很小，小到可能只是他们漫长人生里的一帧画面。但正是这些具体、有温度的体验，让一个遥远的国家变得不再抽象。他们会记得这里的山，记得中国朋友的微笑，记得球场上那一次次碰拍和拥抱。

　　Small moments—mere snapshots in a lifetime. Yet these tangible, warm experiences turned a faraway country into something real. They will remember the hills, the smiles of new Chinese friends, the paddle taps and hugs on the court.

　　友谊赛前，中美青少年一起种下一棵棵桂花树。树要一起搬才能挪动，铁锹有点重，但每个人都争着铲上一铲。对于美国青少年而言，今天种下的，不只是一棵树，更是一颗对中国友好的种子。种子很小，但它带着春天的力量。

　　Before the tournament, Chinese and American youths planted osmanthus trees together. It took teamwork to move each sapling. The shovels were heavy, but everyone wanted to dig in. For the American teens, they were planting more than trees—they were sowing seeds of friendship with China. Small seedlings, yet carrying the power of spring.

　　“青年最富有朝气、最富有梦想，中美关系的未来在青年。”若干年后，这些青少年或许会成为医生、教师、工程师，成为各自社会的建设者。当他们回望这段经历时，也许会想起赣南的风，想起和当地居民说的那声“你好”，也想起球场上那个不需要翻译的拥抱。

　　“Young people are energetic and full of dreams, and the future of China-U.S. relations lies in young people.” Years from now, these teens may become doctors, teachers, engineers—builders of their own societies. Looking back, they might recall the Ganzhou breeze, a simple "ni hao" (how are you?) shared with locals, and a hug on the court that needed no interpretation.

　　那一刻，种子就已经发芽了。

　　In that moment, the seed had already sprouted.
